Examples of common conditions:

-Hand Dermatitis

-Psoriasis

-Rosacea

-Androgenetic Alopecia

-Acne

-Actinic Keratoses

-Alopecia Areata

-Androgenetic Alopecia , Bowens Disease

Basal Cell Carcinoma

Is the most common type of skin cancer. Risk factors include history of sun exposure (including childhood exposure) and skin type. It may have several appearances from a pink bump that resembles a pimple, to a white patch with a scar like appearance, or a sore that won’t heal. They are most commonly seen on sun exposed skin. BCCs are not likely to metastasize, or spread to other parts of the body.

Cryotherapy: refers to the application of extreme cold temperatures to treat a broad range of skin lesions and conditions. Liquid nitrogen is used and may be sprayed onto, or applied directly to the lesion.

Liquid nitrogen may be used to treat many skin conditions including actinic keratosis (precancers), seborrheic keratosis, warts, molluscum, solar lentigines (age spots) and others. one treatment is all what is required in some conditions. In other cases, such as warts, a series of treatments may be required.

Cryotherapy is a quick procedure that may take a few seconds to a few minutes, depending on the type and number of lesions treated. Most patients find the procedure somewhat uncomfortable but very tolerable. The area will develop a crust that will peel away within one to three weeks. If a blister develops this may be drained with a sterile pin.

Squamous Cell Carcinoma is the second most common type of skin cancer. The risk factors are the same as BCC, but also include those with a history of immune suppression, such as a patient with an organ transplant. Though not common, SCC may metastasize if left untreated or if it is a particularly aggressive tumour.

Melanoma is the least common type of skin cancer. However, it is also the most dangerous. Melanoma often appears as a new or changing mole. Those with a family history of melanoma are at increased risk for this tumour, as are those with a history of frequent sunburn, excessive UV exposure including tanning beds, fair skin type and those with many or abnormal moles.

Phototherapy: It’s the use of light or in some cases ultraviolet light, to treat medical conditions. in particular the ultraviolet A and ultraviolet B wavelengths. Patients can be treated with the full UVB spectrum (broadband UVB) or (narrowband UVB). UVA treatment usually comprises UVA radiation combined with a sensitiser cream, gel, lotion or tablets (a chemical that increases the effect of UVA on the skin) called a psoralen.

Ultraviolet light reduces inflammation of the skin and can help in various inflammatory skin disorders. However, although it can cause skin conditions to clear, this is usually temporary and not a cure. PUVA is a more potent form of treatment, so is usually reserved for people who do not respond to UVBP.

soriasis is the most common condition treated with ultraviolet light, although a variety of other conditions may benefit, such as atopic eczema, dermatitis, polymorphic light eruption, generalised itching, pityriasis lichenoides, cutaneous T cell lymphoma, lichen planus, vitiligo and many others that are less common such as disseminated granuloma annulare, morphoea, etc.

Between 2016- 2017, before he joined Mater private Doblin, he was appointed in Mullingar regional Hospital and Letterkenny University hospital.

Dr. Boles completed his medical training and cardiology training through the Royal College of Physicians in Ireland. He was trained in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda with cath lab duties in Mater Misericordiae University Hospital as a specialist registrar.

From 2010 to 2014, Dr. Boles completed his cardiology training in many prominent hospitals in the UK. He worked in the Royal Free Hospital in London, Southampton University Hospital and Norwich and Norfolk University Hospital (which was in conjunction with Cambridge University).

 Advanced Educations & Certifications

Dr. Boles completed a PhD degree from Umea University, Sweden, with a thesis about coronary artery disease. His work in this field was published in high impact international peer-reviewed journals and the work was presented in prestigious, world-distinguished cardiology meetings.

He also completed a taught master’s degree in cardiology from Trinity College Dublin, with a thesis about electrical cardiac remodeling in early stages of hypertension. In addition, he has a post-graduate degree from UCD in healthcare management. His basic MB, BCH degree from Cairo University.

In 2016, he achieved his certified-training programme in invasive electrophysiology and devices management in Queen’s University, Ontario, Canada.

 Sub-Specialty Clinical Interests:

Arrhythmia and intracardiac devices management is the main focus of his work. This includes invasive ablations of all cardiac arrhythmias either complex (e.g. complex atrial fibrillation and ventricular ablations) or simple (e.g. supraventricular ablations). He also implants simple devices for slow heartbeats, associated with symptoms like fainting or syncope events. He is also expert in complex cardiac devices implant like resynchronization devices implants (CRT) to manage severe heart failure symptoms and intracardiac defibrillators implants for primary and secondary preventions of sudden cardiac death. He also provides dedicated arrhythmia diagnostic services either remotely or through minimally invasive loop recorder implants that has 100% detection abilities of rhythm disturbances. To add, he performs sudden cardiac death (SCD) screenings and management of cases through various investigations and includes drug provocation tests. His clinical work in this field led to a discovery of a gene sequence responsible for fatal cardiac arrhythmia. He also provided extensive review articles for management options in congenital arrhythmias.

 Clinical Research & Professional Memberships

In addition to his main attention to clinical work, Dr. Boles has a strong academic profile with more than 50 publications as a first author, supervising author or co-author. Ant-wrinkles treatments:

BOTOX

The most common of all aesthetic procedures in our opinion is BOTOX. Botox has become a lot more popular in the last 5 years.

Everyone’s favourite celebrity is doing it these days. And the treatment is a lot cheaper than undergoing plastic surgery.

Dermal fillers

Hyaluronic acid injections

Fuller lips and plumper, softer skin is no longer a dream – they can be a reality in just a few minutes. With the advent of natural dermal fillers such as hyaluronic acid, treatments are a lot safer and results are very impressive.

 Laser Hair removal

Nd:Yag laser and Intense Pulsed Light (IPL)

The lasers are targeted at the root of each unwanted hair follicle, and this destroys the melanin pigment that normally stimulates hair growth.

There are a few different lasers available that can be used to treat excessive facial or body hair.

Microdermabrasion:

It rejuvenates the skin gently and is useful in managing skin scarring and sun damage. It reduces the appearance of stretch marks and dark pigmentation of the skin.

The procedure is straightforward and involves gently running a device that has a few micro-crystals on its surface on the skin.

It gently removes dead cells and exposes the new skin cells underneath, providing a refreshed and rejuvenated look.

 Chemical peels:

It’s a simple, non-invasive way of improving skin tone and texture. Often offered as a treatment for hard to treat acne (and acne scars), liver spots and freckles.

The procedure is straightforward, and the results are reasonably good and depend on the type of skin peel.

Deeper skin peels can take longer to heal, and patients can develop skin redness and irritation during that time.

Despite this, it remains a sought-after treatment.
