Private cervical smear and HPV testing

While a free Cervical Smear scheme is available in Ireland to all women to whom it applies, this National Screening Programme is currently maybe delayed or takes longer time than usual. When the service resumes, the turn-around time for results may not be acceptable to women who want fast reassurance, so we welcome any new patient that wants Rapid Results & Peace of Mind. At Polyclinic we can arrange for rapid testing and fast consultation with specialist for any needs of colposcopy or further management.

What Makes our Cervical Screening Process Different?

- Direct Access to Consultant Gynaecologist versus routine pathway (GP ):

-Weekly Appointments and less than 2 weeks result turnaround

-Co-Testing is combined testing of both standard cervical cytology and Human Papilloma Virus .

Abnormal cervical screening findings will be escalated for further investigation by our Consultant directly for a priority appointment.

The risk of developing cervical cancer cannot be reduced to zero with any of the currently available screening tests.

We guarantee our work!

If you decide to go ahead with purchasing a hearing aid, we’ll do a thorough hearing assessment which helps us determine the style and model of hearing aid you prefer/require and then programme it to your exact requirements. We’ll also ask you some questions to make sure the hearing aid you choose works with your lifestyle too.

We want you to feel confident with your purchase, to be able to try the latest technology and realise how much benefit a new pair of hearing aids can bring to your life. To do that, you need to wear them, which is why we offer a 100-day money back guarantee .Your first appointment usually takes around an hour. While we adjust to new social distancing guidance, we’d ask that you attend your appointment alone, if possible.

After asking a few questions, the audiologist will test your ears by playing sounds at different pitches through a pair of headphones and asking you to press a button every time you hear a sound. They will then ask you to wear a special headband that will test how well you hear sounds through vibrations.

Using a tiny camera, they will examine the health of your ear canals and ear drums, ensuring that sound has a clear pathway through the structures of the middle and inner ears – they’ll even show you on screen what they’re seeing. This will be recorded to help keep track of any changes in your ear over time.

If you need to wear a hearing aid, your audiologist will talk you through all the options that might be suitable for you. They may also take a mould of your ear canal, so that your new aid fits properly. This takes five minutes and is completely painless.

Real Ear Measurement is used to account for the individual acoustic characteristics of your ear canals. A special microphone analyses the sounds produced by the hearing aids in your ear canal to ensure you’re getting the best level of sound.

In most cases your hearing aids can be fitted on the same day as your test. They’ll be programmed to your needs and we’ll make sure you know how to use them before you leave the store.

We’ll also organise a follow-up appointment after four weeks to check that everything is well and fine-tune the programming if necessary. This may be via our RemoteCare service or with the fine tuning app. Your audiologist will explain all the details during your initial appointment.

We use the latest in tests, tools and hearing technology. Services include:

Hearing evaluations for adults and children

Vertigo (dizziness) and balance disorder evaluation

They also have a special interest in aural rehabilitation, a process that helps people learn how to hear again. This includes learning to use hearing aids, communicate with others and take part in daily life.
